QB Cam Newton signs with New England
The New England Patriots have signed quarterback Cam Newton to a one-year deal after the Carolina Panthers released him.
Newton has battled injuries during the last two seasons but is five years removed from winning the NFL’s most-valuable player award.
Ron Rivera, Newton’s former Panthers’ coach, said Newton is back to way he was when he entered the NFL before he was hampered by foot and shoulder injuries.
Newton replaces Tom Brady who signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
