He keeps his hopes alive for another world championship
Lewis Hamilton, Formula 1’s reigning world champion, won Sunday’s Mexican Grand Prix, cutting into Nico Rosberg’s lead for driver of the year honors with two races remaining.
After taking the checkered flag in Mexico, Hamilton, a black Englishman, is 19 points behind teammate and rival Rosberg with the Brazilian Grand Prix scheduled for November 13th and the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix set for November 27. Rosberg has 349 total points to Hamilton’s 330.
Hamilton kept his hopes alive of capturing his third straight title by winning in Mexico, but Rosberg can win the world championship by crossing the finish line first in Brazil. He finished second to Hamilton in Mexico.
