Hamilton, a black Englishman, who drives for Mercedes, finished ahead of Mercedes teammate and rival Nico Rosberg. Daniel Ricciardo, who drives for Red Bull Racing, finished third.

Sunday’s victory was the 50th of Hamilton’s career. Hamilton trails Rosberg for 2016 driver of the year honors.
