Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms said Monday that she and her husband have tested positive for Covid-19 although she did not have any symptoms.
Bottoms said on MSNBC that the positive test was a “shock.” She said she agreed to get tested because her husband had been sleeping more than usual.
“It leaves me for at a loss of words because I think it really speaks to how contagious this virus is. We have taken all the precautions that you can possibly take. I have no idea when and where we were exposed,” she said.
To date, there have more than 97,000 confirmed virus cases in Georgia and 2,820 deaths.
