Oscar-winning actor Jamie Fox has suffered a stroke
There are unconfirmed reports that Oscar-winning actor, Jamie Foxx, suffered a stroke and has been hospitalized for as long as two weeks at Atlanta Hospital.
Foxx working on a movie with actress Cameron Diaz, who making her return to the big screen after taking time off when he suffered a stroke in Atlanta. To complete the film, Foxx used a stunt double, reports said.
He is the second well-known Black actor who has suffered a stroke in recent years.
Sinbad, who was born David Adkins, suffered a stroke from an ischemic stroke, which doctors had to put him in a medically-induced coma.
Sinbad, 66, had a stroke in 2020 from a blood clot that went from his heart to his brain which led him to undergo a thrombectomy to remove the clot to restore normal flow to the brain. He stayed in the hospital for nearly nine months. He has since learned to walk again.
Initially, Jamie Foxx’s daughter, Corrinne Foxx, said he was suffering from a medical condition without being explicit about why he was hospitalized.
Black men are 70 percent more likely to die from a stroke as compared to non-Hispanic whites because high blood pressure often starts at a younger age and is more severe in African- American men than in white men.
There are several risk factors related to stroke. Here are some of these risk factors are:
Obesity, high cholesterol, and cigarette smoking are the cause are two main types of stroke: ischemic due to lack of blood flow and hemorrhagic due to bleeding.

Fox, whose birth name is Eric Marlon Bishop, became widely known for his portrayal of Ray Charles in the 2004 biographical film “Rayâ€. He won an Academy Award for performance.
