Jackie Robinson statue stolen from a Wichita park

A Jackie Robinson statue was cut at the ankles and stolen from a public park in Wichita, Kansas. Robinson was among the first Black men to integrate Major League Baseball, joining the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947(January 20, 2024).

Wichita police said in a Facebook post that it went missing Thursday morning.

The statue was cut at the ankles to be removed. All that remained of the statue Friday were Robinson’s feet.

Artist John Parsons created the statue.
