He escaped from jail and posted a video declaring his innocence and asking Trump for help
One of the inmates who escaped from a New Orleans jail has given a new meaning to going on the lam by posting a video on social media claiming that he is innocent and asking President Trump for help.
Antonie T. Massey, 32, stared into the video camera, claiming that he didn’t escape but was let out of the Orleans Justice Center on May 16 with 10 other inmates.
The escapees took advantage of bad locks and stolen bedding. A jail employee also aided in the escape. Eight of the escapees have been caught, but only Massey and convicted murderer Derrick Groves, 27, are still on the run.
Massey has indistinguishable markings on both sides of his face and on his forehead. He declared that he was innocent of some of the charges.
Massey is charged with domestic abuse, strangulation, and stealing a car, according to Orleans Parish records. The FBI and other law enforcement officials are hunting for him.
Massey said he is innocent and pleaded with President Trump and Rapper Lil’ Wayne for help.
“I’m saying people that been through the system know it’s corrupt. Lil’ Wayne, Donald Trump, please, I’m asking for help. You know what I’m saying?” he said in one post. “Please, before you throw me away for something I did not do.”
Massey may become to some a folk hero like
Luigi Mangione, who fired the shot that killed UnitedHealth Group CEO Brian Thompson on December 4, 2024, on a busy New York City street.
Or Rodney Hinton Jr., who drove his car into a Cincinnati police officer, killing the cop, one day after another cop shot and killed his son. The car crash happened on May 4, 2025.
A growing number of people consider these men heroes.
