Dunn throws his hat in the ring for Congress
Former Capitol police officer Harry Dunn retired from his job on December 17th, and he is now looking for a new challenge.
He announced that he is running for Congress from Maryland’s 3rd District. He doesn’t live there, according to the New York Times.
John Sarbanes, the current Congressional, announced that he would not seek re-election in 2024 after serving 18 years in Congress.
Dunn, who is 40, is well known to the public.
He was one of the defenders in the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capital, which former President Donald Trump helped initiate.
He testified that he was a “nigger” during his fight to protect the Capital.
Dunn also testified before Congress and has written a book titled “Standing My Ground.”Dunn, a graduate of James Madison University, said he would fight for women’s right to choose.
“That’s why we’ve GOT to protect our democracy from MAGA extremists. We cannot allow politicians in Congress that will embolden their savagery,” he said.
