Trump faces the music Tuesday

Former President Donald Trump will be arraigned Tuesday in New York after being indicted by a Manhattan New York grand jury, making him the first former president to face criminal charges.

Trump will be booked and fingerprinted and have the charges read against him. This is the first time we will learn the full extent of the charges.

The charges include paying porn star Stormy Daniels $130,000 to keep their affair hush-hush prior to the 2016 presidential election in which Trump defeated Democratic candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton.

He also has been charged with 30 counts of breaking the law. The indictment itself has remained sealed, as is standard in New York prior to arraignment.

Acting New York Supreme Court Judge Manuel Merchan will oversee Trump’s case.

Trump, a Republican, has denied any wrongdoing and denounced the investigation as a “scam,†a “persecution,†an injustice, and a political low blow aimed at damaging his 2024 presidential run.

Trump lawyer Joseph Tacopina said during TV interviews Friday he would “very aggressively†challenge the legal validity of the Manhattan grand jury indictment.

Trump himself, on his social media platform, trained his ire about what he calls a “political persecution†on a new target: the judge expected to handle the case, according to National Public Radio.

After being arraigned Trump said he will return to Florida to speak to campaign supporters.
